Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and disability insurance, through Principal, provide financial security to you and your family if you become seriously injured or pass away.

As an eligible employee, you automatically receive Basic Life and AD&D coverage in the amount of $50,000.
This coverage is provided at no cost to you. You may choose anyone to be the beneficiary of your Life and AD&D policy in the event of your death or serious injury. Review your beneficiary designation periodically to ensure it reflects your current wishes. You may change your beneficiary anytime at principal.com or through HR.
No Enrollment Required: You are automatically enrolled in this Basic life plan on your very first day of plan eligibility.
In addition to Basic Life and AD&D, you can buy Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage at discounted rates.
This optional coverage is available for you, your spouse, and your child(ren). If you elect coverage within your first 30 days of eligibility, you can elect coverage up to the Guaranteed Issue amount without answering additional medical health questions.

LTD provides financial protection when a serious illness or injury keeps you from working. If you're unable to perform your job for an extended period, you may qualify for LTD benefits.
You are automatically covered under the LTD plan at no cost to you.
You're covered automatically; there is no enrollment required, and no cost to you.
LTD replaces 60% of your income, up to $10,000 per month, after 90 days of disability.
Payments continue until the earlier of recovery or Social Security Normal Retirement Age.

You have the option to purchase STD insurance which provides partial income if you're temporarily unable to work due to pregnancy or non-work-related illness or injury.
Coverage and voluntary options are administered and provided directly through Principal.

STD replaces 20% of your income, up to $1,000 per month, after 7 days of disability.
Payments continue until the earlier of recovery or 25 weeks.
Other income sources, such as Social Security, Workers' Comp, may reduce your benefit.
